We have been in touch with some pretty p”@&% off peoble with NAT related problems over the years, and even though you are a seasoned Asterisk geek and know (almost) all the tricks in the book, don’t tell me that those three letters doesn’t wake some unpleasant memories. Wouldn’t it be nice just to get a well written recepi placed in front of you just when you were about to start? Take a look, it’s all ready for you courtesy of a real professional who have just been there, done that!
External SIP or in other words SIP through firewalls and routers or more accurately SIP traversal through Network Address Translation (NAT) is arguably one of if not the most common problem people face. SIP is notorious for this. This little article is my attempt to provide a simple no nonsense method of finding and fixing these problems. Ideally before they ever happen. To keep it simple I will assume everything on the PBX itself is configured correctly. Read more here…
And when you are at it, check out this guy’s other articles! You won’t regret it.
For months now I haved received emails from all over the world asking the same questions. Everybody appears to have heard about this new member of Atcom’s PBX family, but only a few prototypes has been available. That’s not the case anymore, limited quantities of the four port IP BRI has already left the assembly line and are being prepared for shipment. And the price is quite affordable, the SRP has been set at US$ 500.00, a tough price to beat for the closed source competitors. But for me the tecnical specs is always the primary conscern, and this little beauty the size of a standard IP04/IP08 really pack some serious punch.

It will still take a little more time before it will be available through the VoIPtel webshop, some testing as well as firmware adjustments need to be done first. But preorders are accepted, I know for a fact that a few guys and at least one lady has already signed up ;o)
